Get comparable carpet and window-cleaning estimates

Agree on surfaces, access, treatments and exclusions before comparing prices.

Before you call

List the rooms and surfaces in scope. For windows, specify inside or outside glass, screens and tracks; for carpet, name rooms, stairs and any separate treatments.

Two cleaning estimates can describe very different work. A lakefront house may have tall exterior glass, a walkout level, screens or access constraints. Write a short scope so each business is pricing the same visit.

Count the work, not just the rooms

Identify the surfaces, areas and access conditions. Ask which measurements the business uses and which treatments are additional. This is a scope-preparation checklist; the directory does not promise stain removal or a specific cleaning result.

  • For glass, does the estimate include interiors, exteriors, screens and tracks?
  • For carpet, which rooms, stairs, upholstery or rugs are included?
  • What furniture moving, spot treatment or access equipment is additional?

Ask how the property should be prepared

Agree on arrival, access and the completion record, especially if you are away. Confirm the business’s instructions for your actual materials and equipment rather than taking generic online cleaning advice.

  • What do I need to move or prepare before arrival?
  • What access and utilities are needed?
  • What timing, drying or return-to-use instructions will you provide?
  • How are additional work and unsatisfactory results handled?

Common questions

Does window installation imply window-washing service?

No. Choose businesses with explicitly supported cleaning jobs, then confirm your scope.

Is a lower estimate necessarily better?

Compare the included surfaces, access, treatments and exclusions first. The directory does not determine the right price or guarantee results.
